Turning the Tide and Peace News are hosting this talk with renowned US Quaker trainer/activist and author George Lakey.

 

  • Event will be held at Monday 16 July at 7pm to 9pm in the Small Meeting House
  • Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ (opposite Euston Station) 
  • Admission free. Venue is wheelchair accessible. All welcome. 

 

Co-founder of the Movement for a New Society in the US, which for nearly 20 years pioneered forms of consensus decision-making, training, direct action and communal living that are now central to today’s activist groups, George Lakey has led over 1500 workshops on five continents, training peace activists, coal miners, homeless people, prisoners, Burmese guerillas, steel workers and many others.

 

George first visited the UK in 1970 giving talks, trainings and working with British activists to develop tools for effective activism. Forty-two years later, George is coming back on the same mission. Join Turning the Tide and Peace News in welcoming George on the first stop of his UK tour.
