In 2009 Turning the Tide will run a year-long series of workshops about the power of nonviolence for social change for activists, campaigners and agitators.

 

There are two ways of participating: year-group and one-day participants. Year-group participation is for people interested and able to make a commitment to participating in all 11 workshops and actively contributing towards the goals of the course. One-day participants may sign up for sessions of interest to them. Spaces for year-group and one-day participation are llimited. Prior booking is essential.

10 Jan -- Nonviolence: a dangerous idea (open to everyone)

14 Feb -- Playing with power 1: understanding the system (open to everyone)

14 March -- Playing with power 2: changing the system (open to everyone)

18 April --Campaigners do it together! How we can make change (open to everyone)

15, 16, 17 May -- Is everybody happy? Tools for effective group-work (weekend residential, year-group only)

13 June -- Don't just sit there! Role and Techniques of direct action (open to everyone)

11 July -- D-I-Y day: self-organised by the group (year-group only)

12 Sept -- The living revolution: building the alternative (open to everyone)

10 Oct -- Inner and outer: spirituality and social change (open to everyone)

Nov, 13, 14, 15 -- We can do that! Empowerment for social change (weekend residential, year-group only)

12 Dec -- Celebrating nonviolence (open to everyone)
