Living life authentically requires looking closely at our values and examining how we live them out. Then we can recognise damaging behaviour, thought and communication patterns, and begin to learn and practice new ways of interacting - using compassion and nonviolence to transform relationships of oppression and violence.

Participants of this weekend workshop will have space to reflect on and share what living authentically means for you/us and explore how living authentically can be a force of positive social change. We will work in a participatory, organic way. The methods include everything from whole/small group discussions, games, drama, drawing, quiet reflection time, video and much more.

Participants of the 2009 course said --

  • We covered a lot of ground and were challenged in our perceptions but it happened in the gentlest way. Active listening for me was challenging and I have changed my assumptions.
  • There was sensitivity to needs and timing was excellent. Lots of information to build on. Lots of laughter, experimenting with new things, good cooperative use of power.
  • A helpful weekend in reaffirming lots of things and clearing a way ahead. I hope I have the courage to follow it and act upon my thoughts and ideas from these two days.

Join Turning the Tide and St Ethelburgas Centre for Reconciliation and Peace for this weekend workshop at the lovely Ammerdown Centre . For bookings contact the Ammerdown Centre, for more information about the course, contact Turning the Tide .
